How to Add a New Video Card
The first step is preparation. Ensure that your chosen graphics card is compatible with your system. Also, be sure that you are properly grounded during the installation process. Even normally minor static electricity can 
damage unprotected electric components. Use an anti-static wrist strap, or keep firm contact with the computer’s case during installation. A small screwdriver should be the only tool you will need. Once you are prepared, remove the side panel of the case to expose the internal components.
You may need to remove an older video card from the system. If you are unsure of a prior video card, consult the specifications for your system. The video card will have a monitor input, and likely a cooling fan. Gently disconnect any wires attached to the card. Remove any mounting screws and release any latches keeping the card in place before gently pulling the card from its slot. If you wish to preserve the card for later use, use an anti-static bag. Your new card should come in a suitable bag.
Installing the new card is much like removing an old card in reverse. Gently but firmly press the card into the slot, then secure any latches before installing the mounting screws. Your card may require extra power for its fan, depending on the model. Check your manual to ensure any extra steps are properly carried out. Finally, replace the side panel, and you will have installed your new video card. Plug your monitor in, and enjoy the upgrade.
